A good cause
When my friend and business associate (Jo from DVE Solutions) visited Sunrise Children’s village in Cambodia with the Project GenZ team last year, I heard stories of a war torn country and school aged children with no option but to work to ensure their family’s survival. I learnt about a brutal regime that killed more than 20% of the country’s population, focusing on those with intellectual occupations or political experience. While Pol Pot’s brutal regime ended the same year I was born, the effects of his genocide on the intellectual population are still apparent today, in a country without education or the opportunities that we take for granted for our children.
What I’m doing about it
This year I’m joining Jo and the Project GenZ team to raise money and awareness for Sunrise Children’s Village in Cambodia. The money we raise will be used to set up medical clinics, teaching programs and community sustainability projects in the village. In October, we’ll travel to Cambodia to work with the teachers at Sunrise Children’s Village to help them improve the educational content and materials
available and we’ll work directly with the children in a series of workshops designed to help them rise above their circumstance and realise their full potential to make a difference in their own lives, in their community and in the world.

How you can help
During the month of May, I’m donating my expertise through group or one-on-one training to Sunrise. Training is offered throughout Adelaide in exchange for a (tax deductible) donation to my cause. There is no set price for the training, you get to choose what the training is worth. You can view our standard training packages here:
www.docoffice.com.au but we’re more than happy to tailor something just for you.
If you are thinking about upskilling yourself or your staff and you’d like to make a difference to current and future generations of Cambodian children, now is the time to do it.
If you’re not in Adelaide, forward this invitation to as many people as you can. If we can raise $3,000 in your city, I will come to you.
How else
If Excel training isn’t for you, join us at one or more of our fundraising events – we have a movie night and quiz night planned in the near future (keep an eye on our Facebook page for details).
Or make a donation directly to the cause. All donations are tax deductible and will go directly to Sunrise. (
you can read more about it or make a donation here).
